FAQ
Where does the data come from, and how fresh is it?
Building permits come from official government open-data feeds and published monthly permit reports (sources listed on the coverage page). Daily areas update every business day; monthly areas update when the government posts its monthly report. Bids come from public procurement listings published by the Tennessee state Central Procurement Office, New York City, Washington DC, Texas (TxDOT) and Delaware. Digests include permits issued in the prior week (daily on paid plans).

In areas our legal review has cleared, we show contractor business names (registered companies such as LLCs and corporations) that appear on public permits; elsewhere the contractor shows as Withheld.
